چکیده
The method of matched asymptotic expansions is used to investigate the problem thermophoresis migration an aerosol spherical particle immersed in a porous medium saturated by viscous fluid at small non-zero Péclet number Pe. A uniform temperature gradient imposed on system parallel diameter opposite direction z axis. It assumed that Knudsen range slip flow through pores and compatible with assumption continuum model. modeled Brinkman equation be homogenous isotropic, solid matrix thermal equilibrium voids medium. In analysis motion, stress considered addition jump, creep, frictional slip. thermophoretic velocity obtained closed form up order Pe3 as function properties permeability present analytical solutions can viewed effective for checking numerical schemes future work arbitrary values number. limiting case Stokes clear recovered.

Electric-field-induced displacement of a charged spherical colloid embedded in an elastic Brinkman medium.
When an electric field is applied to an electrolyte-saturated polymer gel embedded with charged colloidal particles, the force that must be exerted by the hydrogel on each particle reflects a delicate balance of electrical, hydrodynamic, and elastic stresses. This paper examines the displacement of a single charged spherical inclusion embedded in an uncharged hydrogel. We present numerically ex...
متن کاملBulk electroconvective instability at high Péclet numbers.
Bulk electroconvection pertains to flow induced by the action of a mean electric field upon the residual space charge in the macroscopic regions of a locally quasielectroneutral strong electrolyte. For a long time, controversy has existed in the literature as to whether quiescent electric conduction from such an electrolyte into a uniform charge-selective solid, such as a metal electrode or ion...
متن کاملAxisymmetric Buckling of a Spherical Shell Embedded in an Elastic Medium under Uniaxial Stress at Infinity
The problem of a thin spherical linearly-elastic shell, perfectly bonded to an infinite linearly-elastic medium is considered. A constant axisymmetric stress field is applied at infinity in the matrix, and the displacement and stress fields in the shell and matrix are evaluated by means of harmonic potential functions. In order to examine the stability of this solution, the buckling problem of ...
متن کاملBrinkman − Forchheimer − Darcy Flow past an Impermeable Sphere Embedded in a Porous Medium
The flow past an impermeable sphere embedded in a fluid saturated porous medium was studied numerically considering valid the Brinkman−Forchheimer−Darcy (or Brinkman−Hazen−Dupuit−Darcy) model. The flow is viscous, laminar, axisymmetric, steady and incompressible. The porous medium is isotropic, rigid and homogeneous. The stream function vorticity equations were solved numerically in spherical c...
